Sensory overload OR “the days are getting shorter now”

Summer’s on its last legs. Within a week, it’ll probably all be over. Every year, around this time, I get a little restless. And somehow, I either a) never act on it, or b) start a new project, only to abandon it a few weeks later.

Not this time.

Why? Because there’s simply too much going on. The internet might be dying, but it’s never felt more alive. Over the last few months, I’ve felt an undeniable urge to document the things I see, hear, etc…

There’s this strange, beautiful chaos right now. Music, art, fashion, internet culture: it all feels connected and disconnected at the same time. Trends appear overnight and vanish just as quickly. Scenes overlap, world collide, and somehow, it all makes sense, or at least feels worth paying attention to. Which is what I’m trying to do.

So that’s what this is. A place to share the things I find significant, cool, DIY, fun. Anything that captures the zeitgeist, for all it’s worth.

Don’t pay too much attention to the name, ‘MP3 Culture’. That one has been in my head for a long time. It’s a bit of a nod to the bloghouse days. And now I finally get to use it!
